Permits
There are three types of permits in Wallonia: |
- Subdivision permits serve to split a piece of land into two or more plots, with a view to building on or selling the newly created plots.
- Planning permission is needed to build, demolish, renovate or change the main use of a property.
- Environmental permits serve to ensure that the use planned for a given piece of land does not have a negative impact on the environment.
|
In some cases, it may be possible to combine several permit applications.
The "single permit", for example, is an amalgamation of planning permission and the environmental permit. Combined permits save the planning office from having to carry out its planning inquiry twice and usually mean a faster response time.
"Minor Permits"
The term "minor permits" refers to small-scale works. Under certain conditions, this type of work can be performed without planning permission, the approval of a planning officer or architect's plans.
