Gewestplan
The Flemish Development Plan, called the "Gewestplan", is a map of all the plots of land in the Flemish Region, labelled according to their land use designation. |
The land use designation of a property depends on the activity performed on the plot. Properties are grouped in zones depending on these activities, and the zones are recorded on the Regional Development Plan.
The types of land use designations vary from one linguistic region to the next. In Flanders, the main areas on the Gewestplan are:
- Residential area
- Industrial area
- Rural area
- Agricultural area
- Forested area
- Green area
- Area of landscape interest
- Recreation area
- Military domain
- Etc.

The Gewestplan is accessible to the public on the website of the Flemish Land Use Agency:
