Port-Grimaud, often called the "Venice of Provence", is a private lakeside village set in the midst of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Founded in 1966 by architect Spoerry, it gained 20th Century Heritage listing in 2002. Composed of houses featuring the Provencal style and more generally Mediterranean influences, the lakeside village of Port-Grimaud, crisscrossed with canals, symbolises a sailor's dream, by providing each house with its own docking ring.
