Description
Some buildings are placed in their surroundings. The Canopy was designed from that environment.
The building rests on slender concrete columns, allowing the Molenbeek, existing trees, and the natural landscape to flow beneath and around the building. From the apartments, you do not overlook a classically landscaped garden, but rather a living landscape where water, indigenous planting, and biodiversity are given space. A rare spot in Leuven, where nature was not adapted to the project, but the project was adapted to nature.
You can find the same vision reflected in the architecture. Large windows bring greenery deep into the living spaces, and the generous terraces serve as a natural extension of the apartment. The warm zinc facade acquires its own patina over the years, reinforcing the timeless character of the building.
With only nine apartments and duplexes, The Canopy remains deliberately small-scale. Behind the striking architecture lies an energy-efficient living concept with an individual heat pump, underfloor heating, and a ventilation system D. A project for those who seek not only an apartment but also place great importance on the location in which they live.
