Residence Sables d’Or is a prestigious new construction project that will set a new standard along the Belgian coast. The design is inspired by the grandeur of the eclectic buildings from the thriving Belle Epoque period in Blankenberge, where chic hotels and luxurious coastal villas like Hotel Stein and the Grand Hotel du Kursaal gave the city its character.
The architecture of this new building is a combination of elegance and strength, with a strong rhythm and layering in the façade. The façade features spacious window openings approximately 2.4 meters wide, interspersed with slender piers of 70 cm, creating a dynamic, rhythmic pattern. Both the terraces and window openings are integrated into this rhythm, giving the building a stately yet calm appearance to its surroundings.
In terms of materialization and volumetry, the building is a paragon of refinement. The base of the building is designed with a rich, dark plinth that brings the grandeur of Belle Epoque architecture to the neighborhood. The detailed finish and rhythm of the piers form a solid foundation for the upper floors. Additionally, the plinth features a rounded corner, which will house a brasserie that will enhance the neighborhood and add vibrancy to the environment.
