The façade is composed of large window openings of approximately 2.4 metres wide, alternated with slim piers of 70 cm, creating a dynamic, rhythmic pattern. Both the terraces and the window openings are integrated into this rhythm, giving the building a stately yet calm appearance in its surroundings.

In terms of materials and volumetry, the building is an example of refinement. The base of the building is designed with a rich, dark plinth that brings the grandeur of Belle Époque architecture to the neighbourhood. The detailed finishing and the rhythm of the piers form a solid foundation for the upper floors. The plinth also includes a rounded corner, where a brasserie will be located to beautify the area and add vibrancy to the surroundings.

The upper floors are characterised by a modelled volume, with special attention paid to the recessed storeys, cornices and generous terraces. The tapering of the storeys towards the top gives the building an elegant and playful expression. The refinement of the design is further emphasised by the dark crown where the penthouses are situated.

Materials are chosen in neutral tones, such as nuanced beige brick, combined with dark lintels. The windows are finished with a slight arch every two storeys, which is both a nod to the rich Belle Époque past and emphasises the building’s verticality.

Residence Sables d’Or comprises 42 luxurious apartments, 3 commercial units, a bicycle storage room and private cellars for extra comfort and convenience. The building’s orientation is optimal, so most apartments offer a beautiful sea view, which together with the location on the Blankenbergse Zeedijk forms the perfect interplay between the tranquility of the sea and the vibrancy of the town.
