From the street running past the village church, a pedestrian gate opens onto the garden. A central path crosses the garden and leads to the main entrance of the house. Abutting part of the rear facade, there is an outbuilding and, set at right angles, an open barn. They form a courtyard closed off by a wrought iron gate.
The houseBuilt in the early 19th century on a rectangular plan, the house faces north-west/south-east. The rendered rubble masonry facade has three storeys, one of which is in the roofspace. A fully vaulted cellar underpins the dwelling. The slate roof is lit by two roof windows on the garden side. The facade overlooking the garden has five typically French large-paned windows. From the garden, a short flight of approach steps provides access to the entrance door. The rear facade features three small windows with a blue-painted wooden door in the centre. This opens onto two steps leading down to the courtyard.
The ground floor
A hallway serves on one side the large kitchen and on the other the sitting room with its marble fireplace. The fitted kitchen has a wood-burning stove. From here, a corridor provides access to the lavatory and the door to the courtyard. The flooring on this level is of original cement tiles, with the exception of the sitting room, which has a straight strip parquet floor.
The first floor
A quarter-turn oak staircase leads to a passageway serving two large bedrooms, each with its own marble fireplace. The walls feature striking
